Do you have a website that does what you need it to do? When traffic comes to your site, does it project the image you and your organization deserve? Can site-visitors find the information they are looking for? Do they come back? Do they recommend your site to others? Is it easy and inexpensive to make changes to the site and update it?
Websites should be designed with the end user in mind. Twenty-something gamers will require a different type of website than corporate executives, high net worth individuals, and top echelon leaders, who are frequently on the web during the business day. Short of time, thedr prople are (more often than not) looking on the web for information not entertainment. While flash and special effects are mandatory for some for some users, this more intellectual group has been shown to navigate quickly away from noisy/busy sites. Simplicity and clarity are what works best for them. Look at websites that cater to these users like amazon.com. No bells and whistles.
Also, one has to take into account of how users will access your website. Will they be using desktops or handheld smart phones to surf the web? Increasingly it the latter.
It is also important to provide a mechanism for feedback, as well as analytics. Recently, I added a SEARCH box to Givingyouavoice.com to help people access articles. It took a couple of minutes to d.
You should be willing and able to change your website should change, based on feedback and testing.
Recently when I pointed out a small design problem with a website, the business person who had payed for the site said: "It would cost thousands of dollars to make that change."
I also hear from many that their web people take a long time to make updates, and seem annoyed when asked to make changes. That's ridiculous, but it's also a situation that many organizations face. It's also the reason I decided to add websites to what we do at Global Advantage Performance.
We can do websites of 5 pages to 500 and more, with video and multimedia. We can give you an expandable shopping cart, link you to the websites that drive up your search engine rankings and do weekly updates.

Client testimonial:
"Bobbi McKenna provides top-notch professional and executive communications training. She helped me write and publish a very successul book and set up a website that is easy to update. I had been successful in the corporate world, but "new media" and being interviewed on TV required new sets of skills I was not familiar with. Believe me, it is not as easy as it looks. You cannot find a better communications coach than Bobbi McKenna!"
